He has been a member of EGOS since its inception and has been associated
with the journal Orgnization Studies for over 20 years. He has been
on the Editorial Board and was Associate Editor (1995–1999) and
Editor in Chief 1999–2004. He was the chairperson of EGOS from 2003 until June 2006.
His research interests are generally the sociology of organisations.
Specific topics include the role of influence and politics in decision
making; a critical appraisal of prevailing theories of organisational
strategy and change; public sector and non-profit organisations
and the role of management education. He is currently researching
risk and uncertainty in the airline industry.
